With the end of this year’s Christmas lights, not only does a festive season come to an end for us, but also an exceptionally successful community project. ‘Give Berlin Your Light’ has impressively demonstrated what is possible when civic engagement, solidarity and enthusiasm for our city come together.
Our special thanks go to the numerous sponsors and patrons of the Christmas lights. Your contribution – whether large or small – has played a decisive role in lighting up Berlin during the dark season, bringing joy and sending a strong signal of solidarity and responsibility.
We were deeply impressed by the overwhelming response and broad support for this crowdfunding project. It shows how well the campaign was received and the great trust and appreciation that AG City enjoys. We are proud and grateful to announce that ‘Give Berlin Your Light’ contributed 10% of the total cost of Berlin’s Christmas lights! This positive response is both an incentive and motivation for us.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made ‘Give Berlin Your Light’ possible. Together, we have not only lit up the city, but also brought the community together.

Unlike in other cities, Berlin’s Christmas lights are funded entirely through donations. Because of their emotional and economic importance for the city, they are a true labor of love for AG City, which dedicates itself every year with great commitment to finding sponsors and realizes the Christmas illumination together with lighting designer Andreas Boehlke.

Three weeks ago, the last section of Berlin’s Christmas lights was ready for lamp and tree sponsorships — and what has happened since then has truly moved us. Every sponsorship and every donation has brought a bit of warmth, a sense of togetherness, and a growing feeling of festive anticipation back into our city.
Because so many people have taken part, only a few elements are still available. It’s a gentle but bright reminder of how much this season means to all of us — a small moment of hope in an often busy and sometimes dark everyday life.
That’s why we would love to see the remaining lights find their sponsors as well. Each sponsorship is more than just support for the decorations — it’s a small personal message to the city, a light shared with others. And maybe one last thought:
A sponsorship can also be a very special Christmas gift. One that doesn’t just shine under the tree, but continues to shine far beyond it. Together — for Berlin, and for all of us.

On November 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., we’ll be switching them on again. To light up the very last stretch, we still need a bit more teamwork and dedication and would be very grateful for your continued support — we’re almost there!
Starting from a quarter-tree sponsorship, we can provide printed commemorative certificates upon request, showing the exact location of your “sponsored tree,” including a serial number and your company logo or name – a lasting symbol. After your order, we will contact you to help assign your preferred tree location. If your chosen “sponsorship tree” is already fully illuminated, we’ll gladly offer you an alternative.
